Mark L. Barie is a first-time author whose life story is, in it self, a book. A native of Champlain, New York, and one of nine children, the businessman-turned-author grew up in a working class family that struggled at times to make ends meet. He earned a full scholarship to Plattsburgh State University College and, after a brief stint in the insurance industry, started his own immigration consultation company in 1981. Barie is married to Christine A. Racine, and the couple has four children, ranging in age from 14 to 27.
Racine and Barie are now collaborating on a joint effort, an historical account of the U.S. Canadian border at Champlain, New York. Keep visiting this website for details.
